These terms govern your use of Grantfolio ("the Service"), operated by Grantfolio. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.
1. Your account
You may use the Service on behalf of a nonprofit organization you represent. You're responsible for the accuracy of your organization's information, for keeping sign-in credentials secure, and for the actions of teammates you invite. One organization per subscription; team seats are limited to your plan's limits.
2. Acceptable use
- Don't use the Service for unlawful purposes, to misrepresent the provenance of content you submit to funders, or to build features that evade funder AI-detection or disclosure requirements.
- Don't attempt to access other organizations' data, probe the Service's security without permission, or exceed reasonable usage of AI features beyond your plan.
- We may suspend accounts that threaten the Service's security or other customers' experience.
3. AI-generated content and your responsibility
AI features produce drafts and recommendations, not final submissions. Every AI-assisted output is gated behind named human review, and per-section provenance is tracked and exportable. You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit to a funder, including verifying deadlines, eligibility, budgets, and facts. We don't guarantee that use of AI will result in grant awards, and we make no warranty of award outcomes.
4. Your data
You own your content. We store and process it only to operate the Service, per our Privacy Policy. You can export your data at any time and delete your account on request. If you cancel, we retain your data for 30 days in case you return, then delete it.
5. Billing
Paid plans bill monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. Annual plans include two months free. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't pro-rate partial periods. Founding-member and early-adopter pricing, where offered, is locked for the lifetime of the subscription as stated at purchase. Taxes are added where applicable.
6. Service availability
We work hard to keep the Service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. Scheduled maintenance and third-party outages (grant databases, AI providers) can affect features. We'll notify you of material downtime where we can.
7. Intellectual property
You own the content you create and the AI-assisted drafts derived from it. We own the Service, its software, and its brand. Public data sources (Grants.gov, IRS Form 990 data via ProPublica) remain governed by their own terms.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grantfolio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost funding opportunities, or submission errors. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding it.
9. Termination and changes
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-product and on this page at least 14 days before taking effect.
